I often get asked by people entering the product management space about resources they ought to look into.
Although there are several amazing books out there, here are the ones that I found highly useful:
1. Marty Cagan's Inspired (+ SVPG blog) - great primer on the classic end-to-end cycle and all things PM.
2. Jake Knapp's Design Sprint - although you won't commit to a design sprint for every feature, the process, mindset & collaborative framework described is stellar.
3. Nir Eyal's Hooked - product management is a lot more about psychology than raw tech. This teaches you about habit formation (key for retention techniques).
Bonus: Intercom's JTBD Book - quite underrated but aptly fuses Clayton Christensen's popular framework with a PM's mindset.
Also, to keep up with emerging trends, here are some podcasts I keep tuning into:
1. This Is Product Management by Alpha - covers a wide spectrum of aspects of a PM's life.
2. Product Podcast by Product School - PMs from top brands sharing their story. Inspiration overload.
3. Masters of Scale - highly engaging (& wacky) storytelling by Reid Hoffman. Mind-blowing content.
4. Inside Intercom- touches upon the ecosystem PMs operate with- product, marketing, support etc.
As a Product Manager, you might be asked a lot of questions during an interview. One of them includes technical questions. Here are 4 types of technical questions that you might come across.
