I mean chalking out a tailored program for each key role.
For several roles, I spend time preparing a custom deck for that employee that covers the typical 4Ps:
1. Product - why what we build is special and why you should be excited.
2. People - all the people you'll be working with and who to approach for each type of query
3. Process - relevant SOPs for the role, tools, frameworks etc.
4. Plan - checklists to get access to paid software, learning plan/trainings to take, update on in-flight projects, 7/14/30 day milestones etc.
It seems like a lot of effort for the manager.
But, in reality, you save several hours in the long run as you prepare and equip an engaged resource that hits the ground running.
