Learn to Embrace Failures

Ever heard of Dude Perfect (DP), the popular YouTube channel?

It specializes in making videos around incredible, super-human trick shots - like sensational hole-in-ones or flipping water bottles to perfectly land on slim railings.

Now, here's the thing. They don't photoshop the videos.

It's just that it might take them 100+ attempts to make the shot.

The camera simply keeps on rolling for each trick. In the end, all the failed attempts are edited out resulting in a smooth series of breathtaking wins.

DP is a great way to understand how brands/people portray themselves on social media & how they are perceived.

E.g. Social media "stars" continually bombard feeds with all their happy moments, while all the ugly stuff that goes on behind the scenes is conveniently left out.

Viewers, on the other hand, feel awe-struck & are led to believe a fairytale story where these mini-stars work flawlessly with no hiccups.

What people sometimes fail to understand is that those omitted failures are a necessary pre-requisite to achieve a larger goal.

Just like DP wouldn't get their trick shots right unless...they tried relentlessly.

Thus, there is no runaway success or shortcuts. There is just hype.

Ultimately, success arrives for those who learn to embrace their failures.
