We all know how micro-managers suffocate their reportees. Well, there's another phenomenon which is equally as bad.
Lean-beans.
Say what?
Employees that require constant hand-holding and overly rely on others to help them out with virtually every task.
"Lean beans" have a tendency to prematurely surrender & declare a bottleneck.
They fail to put in any effort or due diligence to find a solution themselves.
Hence, they "lean" on managers & peers to figure out everything for them until the work at hand is made trivial.
Close inspection often reveals that majority of their issues are resolved by a Google query or simple hit and trial.
Don't be a micro-manager.
Don't be a lean bean.
