Today's post isn't about product management.
Back in the 90s, my brothers & I had a delightful family friend in KSA.
We'd all take the school bus together.
Our families would often convene at dinner parties where we'd play video games & football.
Charming fellow. Smart. Bright future ahead of him.
And then it happened.
In 2000, a speeding truck ripped through his sedan in the US.
He miraculously survived but went into a coma, barely conscious.
His family looked after him for years in that state. We'd pray for a miracle every day.
He never came to.
14 years later he breathed his last.
Everyone was devastated.

A few days ago I was thinking about him.
I wondered when was the last time I met him.
I could barely recall. Probably at a family get-together?
Now, had I known that that meeting would be my last, what would I have done differently?
I would have told him what he meant to us. Given him a hug?
That made me think.
Everyone I know is on a timer.
When I part ways from a person I know, I can't say if I'll see them again.
So, whether it's your parents, friend or colleague, don't ever leave a relation in a state that you're not proud of.
The worst thing one can do is to assume there will be a next time.
Because goodbyes can come without warning.
