As a kid, I would often get a haircut on a Friday.
I'd ride my bicycle down to a nearby plaza and visit the same hair salon that all my family members preferred.
The barber was nice enough. He'd chat me up as the deed was being done.
Now, I still remember how I would have strict instructions from my mother to cut my hair super short.
Think bald, but back it up a little.
I'd relay this wish to the barber every single time.
However, this guy would never oblige.
He'd do all these fancy sprays & gimmicks but would actually snip away sparingly.
After a few years, I managed the courage to ask him why he wouldn't cut more of my hair.
He laughed & naively spilled:
"Because if I do that, it would take a long time for it to grow back & for you to return here. This way I see you more often."
I shared this with my family & it wasn't long before we switched.
